The concept of mentoring, especially young female mentors, is relatively new. In particular in rural areas, there is a silent presence of women entrepreneurs who could act as mentors. The few mentors that do exist mostly focus on men and male dominated trades such as mobile servicing, motor mechanics and electrical engineering. There is a lack of knowledge on the concept of mentoring. Young mentors, especially women, can help to encourage, build confidence and skills on entrepreneurship.
