Tangerine model is used in the rural school context in Western Kenya and several other places. You do not need any sophisticated IT skills training and easy to use for rural teachers, I is very easy to train them. Free version so suitable for the pilot project in South Sudan.
Challenges
Tangerine is an innovation specifically for the education sector. Once customized to the school situation, it belongs to the school or stakeholders
It is currently used in rural Kenya and has been implemented for four years so many user stories gathered already to help shape any project.
It can be used in an offline version and can be used for feature phones as well.

Tangerine can also be used to conduct a wide variety of school-based monitoring surveys and observational instruments. Will be highly adaptable to South Sudan situation where their refugee situation.
Solution and Innovation
Tangerine can be used to digitally administer the instruments for the Snapshot for School Management Effectiveness (SSME). These instruments include the student, parent, teacher and principals interview protocols, and the school and classroom inventory tools. Tangerine can also be used to conduct a wide variety of school-based monitoring surveys and observational instruments. Tangerine builds on the capabilities of other open source tools such as the Android Operating System, CouchDB, and JavaScript. This intuitive and time-efficient app simplifies and bridges data collection and data analysis of early grade reading and math assessments, classroom observation data, and an increasing array of learning metric surveys. Tangerine’s role in providing an efficient means to measure student progress has been highlighted by the Center for Education Innovations (CEI) as an emerging trend and is now part of CEI’s list of “Emerging Technology Models.”

What is this tool given for results and impact for the teachers, the school managers and stakeholders?

One of the lessons learned is that there must be follow up for the teachers and school management. Furthermore, a basic infrastructure will be necessary for example smart phones
In case of Kisumu, teachers were meant to download the software and use on mobile phones. Due to lack of follow up, most teachers were not diligent enough to continue using. Only majorly used by education officials to track key education data in the schools
